“Go into the arts. I'm not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.”

history

Westshore Art & Creativity Club got it’s start when two local parents, motivated by the need for after-school art options for their own child, decided to open a process art studio for kids in their quickly growing Westshore community. Their centre is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which emphasizes the value of hands-on, child-led learning and the importance of the environment as a third teacher. WACC is dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can explore, create, and learn through artistic expression.

“The arts give children a means of expression that is often easier for them than using words. And this, in turn, can build their self-esteem, give them confidence and help them to communicate more effectively.”
